According to the Russian border guards, a ship of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine approached the Tavrida drilling rig of Chernomorneftegaz and questioned the rig captain about the composition of the crew and the purpose of the Russian oil and gas rig appearing in that area. After that, the Ukrainian warship approached and took pictures of the Golitsinsky gas field.
The source said that for the safety of the crew on the Tavrida rig and to protect Russia's economic interests, the escort ship Ametist was dispatched to the area.
Upon arriving at the Odessa and Golitsynsky gas fields, the Ametist spotted two Ukrainian Navy ships operating nearby.
Currently, the Ametist ship is still patrolling the Black Sea area, where Chernomorneftegaz operates, to protect Russia's economic and other interests./.
