Drone footage released by the Russian Defense Ministry shows a line of nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missiles moving toward Moscow at night. With a police escort, the weapons are mounted on MAZ trucks designed with multiple axles to transport the missiles.
According toSputnik, the ballistic missiles will take part in the Victory Day parade, scheduled for May 9 in Red Square. This is an annual event to mark the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in 1945.
Earlier, on February 26, three trucks carrying intercontinental ballistic missiles began their 400km journey from Russia’s Teykovskaya missile division to Moscow. To ensure the smooth transportation of the missiles, the trucks carrying the missiles were escorted by both civil police and military police to Moscow.
Although the parade on Red Square is still more than two months away, the Russian military branches are already preparing for their annual routine. For example, intercontinental ballistic missiles have left Moscow for the Alabino test range, where most of the exercises are taking place. Then, the final dress rehearsals for the parade take place on Red Square at night, which usually attracts large crowds.
