Russia opposes OSCE draft resolution on Crimea
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 4, the Russian delegation left the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) because they believed that the draft resolution on Crimea was not objective and biased. This was the statement of Mr. Nikolai Kovalyov - the leader of the Russian delegation at the conference.

Earlier on July 3, the OSCE Standing Committee considered the draft resolution "On violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Crimea, violations of the rights of Crimean Tatars", proposed by Ukraine.
According to Mr. Kovalyov, the above resolution includes "propaganda slogans" that the Russians "of course do not approve of." According to the head of the Russian delegation, Moscow's point of view has received support from the French delegation.
Mr. Kovalyov also specifically criticized the resolution's arguments that observers were not allowed to go to Crimea. He asserted: "There is no such thing, we said, 'Please come here.' And the French delegation's speech clearly stated: before adopting a resolution, it is necessary to go there, examine it, draw conclusions, and then adopt it."
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session was held in Tbilisi (Georgia) from July 1-5./.
