On October 23, Russia's Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft left Kazakhstan's Baikonur Cosmodrome, carrying two Russian astronauts and one American astronaut to the International Space Station (ISS).

The Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft left the launch pad at 5:51 p.m. the same day (Vietnam time). According to plan, this spacecraft will connect with the ISS at 7:35 p.m. on October 25 (Vietnam time).

The Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft left the launch pad on July 15.

This was the second spaceflight for American astronaut Kevin Fort, but the first for Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Yevgeny Tarelkin.

The new "trio" will work together on the ISS with the old "trio", which was brought to this space station on July 15 - including Russian astronaut Yuri Malenchenko, American astronaut Sunity Williams and Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoside.

Mr. Fort will replace Mr. Williams as commander of the ISS when the old working group leaves the ISS to return to Earth, expected on November 12. The new "trio" will work on the ISS for 140 days.

The launch of the Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft to the ISS was delayed for eight days due to equipment problems./.
