Russia successfully launched Iskander-M missile in the Far East
According to RT, this is the first time the Iskander-M missile has been launched in the Eastern Military District.
Previously, on September 20, the Iskander-M missile brigade was asked to bring this missile launcher to a forest in the Muslim Autonomous Region to conduct an exercise and the Iskander-M missile destroyed all targets during the exercise.

The purpose of the exercise is to test the coordination between commanding officers and soldiers of different combat branches as well as to enhance soldiers' initiative in carrying out difficult missions.
“The Iskander missile is one of our most powerful weapons to ensure our security,” Major General Mikhail Matvievsky, commander of the Strategic Missile and Artillery Forces of the Russian Ground Forces, said after the missile launch.
The Iskander missile (which NATO calls the SS-26 Stone) is famous for its high mobility because it only takes 20 minutes to put the system into combat readiness.
The Iskander missile system can hit targets from a distance of 400m with an accuracy of about 30cm.
In addition, this missile can destroy enemy infantry targets or underground enemy command posts depending on the type of warhead installed. If necessary, the Iskander missile can also be equipped with a nuclear warhead.
This advanced missile has been used by the Russian military since 2006 and is participating in a strategic exercise called Vostok-2014 in the Eastern Military District from September 19-25.
The Russian Defense Ministry said about 100,000 soldiers, 1,500 tanks, 120 aircraft and 70 warships participated in the exercises.
During the exercise, tactical and intercontinental missiles will be launched from 20 different ranges from Anadyr in the North to Vladivostock in the South.
In addition, Russian soldiers will also be trained to protect the seas and islands in Sakhalin, Kamchatka, Chukotka and the southern Primorsky Kray region./.
