Russia is about to introduce new AK-47 rifle
The Kalashnikov Concern arms manufacturer will showcase a modernized AK-47M rifle, with 50% more accuracy, at this weekend's victory parade.

The AK-47M is equipped with modern optical-electronic and laser aiming devices, a flashlight for limited visibility areas, and a noise reduction device when firing, Kalashnikov Concern said on May 5. The new gun also has an integrated 40 mm grenade launcher and a bayonet.
The AK-47M is expected to have 50% increased accuracy with a firing distance of 300 m at all times of the day and in a variety of weather conditions.
Cadets from one of Russia's two top naval schools, the Pacific Fleet's Admiral SO Makarov Naval College and the Black Sea Fleet's Admiral Nakhimov Naval Academy, will showcase the AK-47M at the Victory Day parade on May 9.
The AK-47M, along with the Armata medium tank, are Russia’s two newest military weapons. The Armata has an unmanned, remotely controlled turret. The tank is equipped with a new 125mm smoothbore gun, which is capable of firing the most powerful projectile of its type in terms of muzzle power.
The 2015 Victory Day celebrations mark the 70th anniversary of Nazi Germany's surrender to the Soviet Union in World War II. More than 16,500 soldiers are expected to march, along with 194 weapons and 143 aircraft.
