Russia will respond appropriately to US moves to militarize space
The United States is creating the preconditions for the militarization of space with the intention of using it for military purposes, Russia will be forced to counter the potential threat with proportional and asymmetric measures.

That was the statement of General Valeriy Gerasimov - Commander-in-Chief of the Russian army, Deputy Minister of Defense at the symposium on military strategy development.
He noted that Washington is currently continuing to expand its direct military presence system on Russia's borders, destroying the system of agreed relations on arms limitation and reduction, leading to a violation of strategic stability.
"Recently, the Pentagon has repeatedly announced its intention to use outer space for military purposes. To do this, it is promoting the creation of a new army, the space force, which will create prerequisites for the militarization of space," - Mr. Gerasimov emphasized.
In his words, ultimately, "all these actions could lead to an increase in the outbreak of political-military tensions, military threats to which Russia would have to respond with corresponding and asymmetric measures."
