According to the announcement, Russian President Putin will meet with Raul Khadzhimba in the Black Sea resort of Sochi on November 24 to sign an agreement on “allies and strategic partnerships”. The move comes as the Russian leader is facing an international political crisis related to Ukraine.
Abkhazia has been dependent on financial and political support from Moscow since Russia recognized the independence of the territory along with South Ossetia after a five-day war with Tbilisi in 2008./.
