Russia successfully tested intercontinental ballistic missile
The press service of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces said on August 22 that the force had successfully test-launched an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar testing range in Astrakhan province.

The announcement said: "On August 22, 2015, at 18:13 Moscow time (00:13 August 23 Hanoi time), the Strategic Missile Forces from the central state multipurpose training ground in Astrakhan province conducted a test launch of an RS-12M Topol intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The test missile warhead, launched from the Kapustin Yar test site, hit the simulated target at the test site in Kazakhstan.
The agency noted that the Kapustin Yar testing site is the only facility capable of testing ballistic missile warheads. Only the tracks and measurement systems of this testing site can allow testing future combat equipment capable of penetrating missile defense systems for the purposes of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces and the Navy.
