The 4th Russian regiment, which operates the missile system, has been ordered to deploy the S-400 Triumf in the port city of Nakhodka in the Primorye region, which borders China. At the same time, other S-400 regiments have been deployed in the Moscow region and the Russian Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad.
By 2020, Russia plans to have 28 S-400 missile regiments, each consisting of two battalions, mainly in maritime and border areas. The S-400 Triumf air defense system is a medium- and long-range surface-to-air missile system that can engage any target, including aircraft, drones, warships and ballistic missiles, at a range of 400km and an altitude of up to 30km.
