Speaking at a press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the two sides agreed that Pyongyang needed to exercise restraint and not take "irresponsible actions."
For his part, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Beijing and Moscow will fully implement the latest UN resolution targeting Pyongyang, thereby preventing the country from developing nuclear weapons and missiles.
While North Korea has no intention of giving up its nuclear ambitions, the foreign ministers of the two countries have called for an early resumption of the six-party talks on the North Korean nuclear issue.

In addition, at the press conference, both Mr. Lavrov and his counterpart Wang Yi expressed concerns about the possibility of deploying the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system in South Korea.
The head of Russian diplomacy affirmed that the deployment of THAAD in South Korea will increase tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Mr. Wang also reiterated China's opposition to the deployment of THAAD. Both leaders said that the deployment of THAAD in South Korea will further increase security instability in the Northeast Asian region.
South Korea and the US have always maintained that the THAAD system is only intended to help Seoul better defend against all nuclear and missile threats from Pyongyang./.
