TASS news agency reported on March 24 that Russia has declared nationwide mourning due to the terrorist act that occurred at the Crocus City Hall building in the Moscow region.
On the evening of March 22, several people opened fire there. An explosion occurred in the building and a fire broke out. According to the latest data, the death toll is more than 130 people and may rise. The Russian Ministry of Health reported that more than 140 people were injured.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a special address on national television, vowing to identify and hold accountable all those behind the attack on Crocus City Hall and declaring March 24 a national day of mourning.
In a related development, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on the same day that people around the world condemned the terrorist act at Crocus City Hall in the Moscow region and expressed support for Russia.
“Thousands of condolences, words of support and solidarity with our country from concerned people around the world began to arrive on the official pages of the Russian Foreign Ministry immediately after the first information about the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall appeared,” the Ministry stressed.
People from all continents sent their deepest condolences to the loved ones and near and dear ones of those who lost their lives, wished a speedy recovery to the injured and strongly condemned the horrific terrorist attack on these innocent citizens.
“We are grateful to everyone for their statements of support in these difficult times,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
