“The list of foreign citizens denied entry to the Russian Federation is similar to the blacklists in the European Union and NATO countries. The United States tops the list with more than 60 people,” a source close to the Russian Foreign Ministry told Izvestia.
According to the source, the list includes House Speaker John Boehner, House Minority Leader Harry Reid, Deputy Assistant to the President Caroline Atkinson, advisers Daniel Pfeiffer and Benjamin Rhodes, as well as Senators John McCain and Bob Menendez.
Russia had already imposed an entry ban on some citizens from the United States, the European Union and other countries in spring 2014. The move was in response to sanctions against Russian officials over the annexation of Crimea and the crisis in Eastern Ukraine./.
