In recent times, the Party Committee and the government of Nghe An province have paid attention to creating favorable conditions for religious dignitaries and followers to exercise their freedom of belief in accordance with the law and the Party and State's policies on religion. Therefore, the majority of religious dignitaries and followers are confident and excited, have faith in the Party's policies and the State's laws, and live a good life and a good religion.

However, from 1997 to now, in Nghe An, there have appeared 6 strange religious groups and religions under the name of religions, taking advantage of the Party and State's policy of freedom of belief and religion to operate illegally. Typical groups are: Falun Gong, Supreme Master Thanh Hai, the "vacuum" group of Luu Van Ty, "Healing Image Worship" of Vuong Dinh Thu (Nam Dan), "Hoang Thien Association" of Le Thi Soan (Duc Tho - Ha Tinh), "Chinh Thien Family" of Nhan Thi Ngoc Minh (Thanh Hoa), and recently appeared the so-called Hoang Thien Long religion, taking advantage of the prestige of the leader to practice superstition and make illegal profits. The Hoang Thien Long religion was established by Nguyen Thi Dien in Ung Hoa (Hanoi)... When infiltrating Nghe An, the subjects and followers of Hoang Thien Long mainly operated in areas such as Vinh City and the districts of Yen Thanh, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky, Quynh Luu and Tuong Duong.

The common characteristic of these illegal religious groups is that their activities are superstitious and contrary to the traditional customs of the nation. The main target of propaganda is low-educated workers, the elderly, women, people in difficult situations, the sick, and some retired officials and teachers. As for Hoang Thien Long, they take advantage of the people's belief in worshipping Uncle Ho and heroic martyrs to attract and entice followers to participate.

From here, the subjects have propagated nonsense that causes disunity, causing many complications in the security and order situation. In addition, the founders of the so-called Hoang Thien Long have propagated and performed unscientific treatment with plain water. In addition, the subjects of the Hoang Thien Long cult have also violated the Publishing Law by creating websites, printing, copying documents, books, and discs for distribution without a license.

The above activities have caused difficulties for State management of religious beliefs, affected security and order and caused bad public opinion among the masses.

In the face of the above situation, the authorities in Nghe An have detected, mobilized the masses and promptly handled violations and achieved initial results. The police discovered 50 cases of strange religious propaganda, seized 625 documents, administratively handled 25 violators, and called and warned dozens of others.

At the Conference, delegates discussed and clarified issues related to the emergence and negative impacts of strange religions and illegal religious groups operating in Nghe An in recent times. Accordingly, through many forms of struggle, the authorities have mobilized, propagated and effectively prevented this situation. Through the struggle, many ringleaders have been dealt with. However, this is a complicated and long-term task, so it requires the decisive participation of all levels, sectors and the whole society.

Speaking at the Conference, a representative of Nghe An Newspaper said that after discovering a group of people taking advantage of President Ho Chi Minh's spiritual beliefs to operate illegally, the Editorial Board sent a group of reporters to infiltrate localities such as Hanoi, Nam Dinh, and Hoa Binh. The five-part investigative series "Journey to find the truth about the Hoang Thien Long cult" published in Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Electronic Newspaper from October 30 to November 3, 2013 created a very positive effect. Through the above series of articles as well as at the Conference, Nghe An Newspaper affirmed that Hoang Thien Long is a superstitious and heretical organization operating illegally throughout the country. Therefore, not only in Nghe An but also in the whole country, the authorities need to fight and prevent it in a timely manner; the leaders of this cult need to be strictly handled according to the law.
