Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development works on FMD prevention in Dien Chau |
The Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision to declare FMD in Dien Thai commune, and declare the communes in the threatened epidemic area. Dien Chau district has coordinated with the provincial Veterinary Department to immediately destroy 05 sick cattle, vaccinate and disinfect the epidemic area, threatened epidemic area and high-risk area. At the same time, the Veterinary Department has also provided 7,500 doses of multi-type vaccine to Dien Chau, Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts to prevent the epidemic.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development highly appreciated the quickness and timeliness of Nghe An and Dien Chau district in preventing and controlling FMD, thanks to which the FMD type A epidemic is currently being temporarily controlled in a small area. However, he also noted that the FMD type A epidemic is currently developing very complicatedly in the provinces of the North Central region, especially in the neighboring province of Nghe An, Ha Tinh. Dien Chau is a locality located on Highway 1 and Highway 7, while the period from now until Tet is the season of strong development of the epidemic. Therefore, Nghe An province as well as Dien Chau must not be subjective in preventing this dangerous epidemic./.
