State Bank: No ATM withdrawal fee in 2012
Recently, the media reported that some card-issuing organizations increased ATM transaction fees. The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) confirmed that in 2012, it did not collect ATM withdrawal fees within its network, nor did it adjust ATM transaction fees outside its network for card users.
In 2012, there was no fee for domestic ATM withdrawal transactions.
Previously, the State Bank of Vietnam held a meeting with commercial banks and requested card-issuing organizations to strictly comply with the policies of the State Bank and the Vietnam Bank Card Association.
Specifically, in 2012, there was no fee for domestic ATM withdrawals and no adjustment to the fee for foreign ATM transactions for customers using cards.
Card switching companies do not change any fees for ATM transactions.
Card issuing organizations must publicly announce the Card Service Fee Schedule at ATM transaction points for customers to know.
The State Bank also requires the Bank Card Association to closely coordinate with the State Bank to research and develop a reasonable ATM fee policy, to ensure the harmony of interests between customers and card issuers. Announce the implementation roadmap publicly on mass media.
