Police and Banking Sectors review implementation of coordination regulations to ensure security and order
(Baonghean.vn) - On January 28, 2013, in Vinh city, the two sectors of the Public Security and the Bank held a Conference to evaluate the results of implementing the Coordination Regulation on the work of protecting security and safety of assets.
In 2012, the economy fluctuated, crimes related to finance and currency such as high-tech crimes, counterfeit money crimes, online fraud, bank robberies... tended to increase, causing difficulties in ensuring security and order and coordinating the implementation of Joint Circular 14 between the two sectors of the Public Security and the Banking sector. However, with great efforts, the two sectors achieved high results in ensuring security and order, and the safety of State assets managed and preserved by the Banking sector.
Lieutenant Colonel Vu Chien Thang - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department awarded certificates of merit from the Director of the Provincial Police Department to banks with outstanding achievements in coordinating to ensure security and order.
Banks in Nghe An province have coordinated with professional units of the provincial police to strictly implement regulations on fire prevention, organize drills on anti-robbery and fire prevention plans; ensure security and safety of people and property; organize well the movement of the whole people to protect national security and order, focusing on prevention and combat against economic crimes... Banks have promptly informed about the characteristics and ways to identify some types of counterfeit money; announced about new types of counterfeit money to promptly detect, prevent and not let counterfeit money enter banks.
In 2012, Nghe An police discovered and prosecuted 6 cases, 8 subjects, and seized over 413 million VND in counterfeit money. A typical case was the prosecution of 2 defendants Nguyen Van Bang (born in 1985, residing in Xuong Lam commune, Lang Giang district, Bac Giang) and Duong Vinh Din (born in 1976, residing in Tam My commune, Van Lang district, Lang Son) for the crime of "Transporting counterfeit money", seizing 400 million VND in counterfeit money worth 200,000 VND. Vinh city police also clarified and arrested 2 subjects who smashed 2 ATM withdrawal columns at Transaction Office No. 1 of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Nguyen Sy Sach street) in December 2012. Most recently, on January 23, 2013, Nghe An Police coordinated with a number of professional units to catch Pham Ngoc Lam (born in 1958) and Tran Thi Tuyet (born in 1972) residing in Tan Ky area in the act of buying and selling counterfeit Vietnamese currency. The seized evidence included 190 counterfeit Vietnamese currency notes with a face value of 500,000 VND, equivalent to 95 million VND.
In addition, the two sectors have coordinated to ensure the safety of banking targets and prevent terrorism. At the same time, they have promoted propaganda work and raised awareness among officials and people about ensuring monetary security and banking security.
