Nghe An Industry and Trade maintains growth rate of indicators
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2022, maintaining stable growth rates in industrial and commercial indicators, Nghe An's Industry and Trade sector will actively contribute to the province's overall economic growth.
On the afternoon of December 23, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to review the work in 2022 and deploy tasks in 2023. Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and gave a speech. Attending were representatives of departments, branches, districts, cities and towns.
Exceeded targets
In 2022, the entire industry and trade sector carried out its tasks in a difficult context, but with the attention and direction of ministries and branches at all levels, especially the business community and production and business units in the area, industry and trade activities achieved a good growth rate, exceeding many important targets.

Recovering production after the Covid-19 pandemic, with efforts, the industry and trade sector has achieved many important results. The industrial production index (IIP) for the whole year of 2022 is estimated to increase by 14%. The industrial production value in 2022 is estimated to reach about VND 88,800 billion, up 15% compared to 2021. Total retail sales of goods are estimated to reach VND 83,000 billion, up 24.16% compared to 2021.

Total export turnover for the year is estimated at 2.52 billion USD, up 3.7% compared to 2021, exceeding the annual plan by 7.2%. Of which, the export turnover of goods is estimated at 2.17 billion USD, up 2.6% compared to 2021, exceeding the plan by 8.4%. Nghe An enterprises have exported to more than 127 countries and territories and have developed a number of new export markets; over 340 enterprises in the province, including about 200 domestic enterprises and 140 enterprises from other provinces, participate in exporting goods. Import turnover is estimated at 1,200 million USD, up 20% compared to 2021.

Last year, the work of planning, planning, program and project development; energy management, administrative reform, etc. was focused on. The Department of Industry and Trade also consulted on many documents on the implementation of legal regulations and stabilizing the petroleum market. In particular, the industry has been making strong and comprehensive efforts to digitally transform in all areas under its responsibility, thereby contributing significantly to the digital transformation of Nghe An province.

2023 is the mid-term year, which is of great significance in promoting the implementation and striving to complete the goals of the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025 and the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels. The industry's target is to achieve an industrial production value of VND 103,000 - 103,500 billion, a growth rate of 15-16%; Total retail sales of goods: VND 85,000 billion; Export turnover of goods: USD 2,500 billion;Import turnover: 1.5 billion USD.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Industry and Trade sector; at the same time, noted the limitations that need to be overcome.
In 2023, in addition to favorable conditions, many difficulties and challenges are forecasted. Therefore, to achieve the set goals, the Industry and Trade sector will proactively carry out key tasks, continue to direct the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 19th Provincial Party Congress, and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period 2021-2025.
Propose that the Department of Industry and Trade review and re-evaluate the sectors, continue to promote economic restructuring towards improving productivity, quality and competitiveness, promoting growth and economic restructuring. In particular, focus on completing basic targets; promoting industrial production, developing domestic market, developing import and export. Timely and synchronously deploy industry development planning; effectively implement programs and projects on industrial development, trade, import and export. Research, advise, supplement, perfect and effectively implement policies and mechanisms.
