Transport sector offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs
(Baonghean.vn) - This is an activity within a series of activities of the Ministry of Transport towards the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2019) and towards the 74th anniversary of the Transport Industry's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2019).
On the morning of July 24, a delegation of officials and employees of the Nghe An provincial Department of Transport led by Mr. Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Transport, offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Le Canal Memorial, Truong Ke Martyrs Cemetery and Truong Bon National Historical Site.

At the Le Canal Memorial (Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District), the delegation offered incense and flowers to commemorate the great contributions of King Le and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives fighting foreign invaders to protect the Fatherland.
Here, during the resistance war against the US, more than 1,350 soldiers including army forces, youth volunteers, and transport sector officers braved the rain of bombs and bullets to ensure the supply route to the South was always open, and 130 people heroically sacrificed their lives for the cause of national reunification.

Next, the delegation offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Road 7 - Truong Ke Martyrs Cemetery, My Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District. The cemetery is the resting place of 454 martyrs of the Transport sector who sacrificed their lives during the resistance war against the US.

On the same day, the delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Bon National Historical Site, My Son Commune, Do Luong District. They paid tribute to the heroic martyrs of the Youth Volunteer Force who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. In particular, the heroic sacrifice on October 31, 1968 of 13 heroic youth volunteers of the "Steel Squad" of the 317th Youth Volunteer Force Company.

During the war against the US to save the country, at the “fire coordinate” Truong Bon, more than 1,500 cadres and soldiers of the Youth Volunteer Corps, together with our army and people’s forces, day and night held out and fought tenaciously with courage; with iron will and determination, they established feats and miracles here. More than 1,240 martyrs fell and sacrificed for the nation.
