Nghe An Transport Industry deploys tasks for 2025
On the afternoon of December 10, Nghe An Department of Transport held a conference to review the transport sector in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

Complete large volumes of work
In 2024, Nghe An Transport sector continues to implement a large volume of work, achieving many positive results.
During the year, Nghe An Transport sector has focused on mobilizing and attracting capital, directing strongly, coordinating with all levels, sectors, especially localities to deploy investment in the construction of a number of large, key projects, which are of great significance to the socio-economic development of the province such as: Vinh - Cua Lo traffic road (phase 2), the road connecting National Highway 7C - Ho Chi Minh road, coastal road project,...

The estimated output value in 2024 is VND 1,953 billion (an increase of 4.6% over the same period in 2023). The estimated disbursement in 2024 is about VND 1,739 billion (disbursement of 99.9% of public investment capital and 90% of other capital sources), reaching 95.3% of the allocated capital plan.
The Department of Transport has proactively coordinated well with relevant sectors, units and localities to create the most favorable conditions for transport businesses to implement transport activities to ensure safety and efficiency. Driver training and testing have been seriously and systematically rectified. Transport inspection work has many innovations and diversified inspection contents and fields. Traffic safety work continues to decrease in all 3 criteria compared to the same period in 2023.

The management of transport infrastructure has been strengthened. To date, the Department manages 49 roads with a total length of more than 1,717.80 km (including 8 national highways with a length of 879.14 km and 41 provincial roads with a length of 838.66 km) and 8 inland waterways with a total length of 262.6 km.
The total budget for implementation in 2024 is 594.62 billion VND to carry out regular management and maintenance work; complete 49 periodic repair projects with a repair length of 79.62 km of road surface (42.52 km of national highway, 37.1 km of provincial road), remove 4 spillways on provincial roads, and repair 5 bridges. The Department coordinates with the Department of Finance and advises the Provincial People's Committee to promptly allocate capital from the Central Government to support the maintenance and repair of local roads.
In parallel, the Department has paid attention to and directed administrative reform. The Department of Transport has been the leading unit of the province for many years in the field of administrative reform, effectively implementing simplification and shortening the time to carry out administrative procedures.
Keep up the good work with new goals
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the important contributions of the Transport sector to the socio-economic development of the province.

Deploying the tasks for 2025, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh requested that the Nghe An Transport sector must make efforts and be determined to strive to complete the set goals and tasks regarding state management as well as investment in developing transport infrastructure.
The Department needs to pay attention to stabilizing the ideology of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers; pay attention to streamlining and standardizing the apparatus, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of each department, division, and unit in accordance with the direction of the Politburo.
Focus on reviewing the industry's targets and objectives set out in the Resolution, Action Program, Project to implement the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan for the 2021-2025 period to focus on directing implementation to achieve the highest results.
The sector continues to advise on strategies, planning, and developing a medium-term public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period to focus on investing in key projects, creating momentum to promote the province's socio-economic development in the new situation. Advise on policies and mechanisms, and call for investors to develop public passenger transport.

At the same time, the Department needs to focus on directing and closely coordinating with localities to remove difficulties in site clearance work, speed up the progress of projects to soon put them into use, and promote project effectiveness.
Manage the traffic infrastructure system well; focus on directing and promoting inspection, examination, detection and resolute handling of violations of road and waterway traffic safety order, encroachment on traffic safety corridors, regulations on transportation, construction quality, testing work, etc.
At the same time, the Department of Transport performed well its role as the standing agency of the Steering Committee for implementing key projects in the transport sector, completing the planning scheme to expand Vinh International Airport.

At the same time, the Department coordinates with central agencies to strengthen the management and operation of transportation activities, and implement investment projects in airports, seaports, and railways.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 9 individuals with achievements in 2024. The Director of the Department of Transport awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 4 individuals with achievements in the movement to build and develop local transport in 2024.
