(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 3, Hoang Anh passenger bus (37B - 00517) departed from Vinh to Hanoi. Taking advantage of the last day of the holiday, there were many passengers going to Hanoi, so the bus company ignored the regulations on price management of the transport sector.
Accordingly, the ticket price from Vinh to Hanoi (both Nuoc Ngam and My Dinh stations) listed at Nghe An Bus Station Joint Stock Company is 190,000 - 200,000 VND. Except for passengers who bought tickets, the bus company mercilessly "cut" and "slashed" passengers along the way (from outside the Vinh bus station gate to Cau Giat town, Quynh Luu) with the price of 350,000 - 400,000 VND/person (depending on the pick-up point). Despite the reactions of passengers, the bus attendants still deliberately ignored them.
Due to extreme frustration, passengers texted and called the hotline of the Vietnam Road Administration and the leaders of the Ministry of Transport.
Immediately, the person in charge from the hotline of the General Department of Roads and the Ministry of Transport called the Nghe An Department of Transport. Mr. Hung, an officer of the Nghe An Department of Transport, called Dien Chau station to check, but at this time the car had already left for Tinh Gia (Thanh Hoa).
After contacting the passenger and understanding the route of the vehicle, the General Department of Roads and the Ministry of Transport asked the passenger for the phone number of Hoang Anh. From Hanoi, the authorities contacted Hoang Anh - asking the owner to refund the passenger's ticket (the overcharged portion compared to the original price). The refund procedure required the passenger's signature as proof when the vehicle arrived in Hanoi. Arriving in Thanh Hoa city, the owner completed the refund procedure according to the authorities' request.
After asking the vehicle owner to commit, the authorities regularly contact the passenger to check whether the vehicle owner has properly refunded the passenger.
Passengers on bus 37B - 00517 were extremely grateful for the sense of responsibility of the transport management agencies in promptly and thoroughly handling the violations of Hoang Anh bus company. That action makes passengers increasingly trust the GVVT industry. Thereby, other bus companies also need to be aware of the innovation in State management to properly comply with transportation regulations.
