16th Artillery Brigade Logistics Sector: Practical Work

(Baonghean) - Located in Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu district, officers and soldiers of the Logistics sector of Artillery Brigade 16, Military Region 4, strive to complete all tasks, closely coordinate with the government and people to build solidarity, and do well in military and national defense work.

Thoroughly grasping the contents, goals and plans of the Party Committee and the Command of the 16th Artillery Brigade, the Logistics sector officers have linked "following" with emulation movements, increasing production, doing well in military medicine, barracks, transportation, etc. In particular, the sector has been proactive in increasing production, taking advantage of land, ponds, building VAC models; focusing on selecting crops and livestock suitable to the soil conditions of the locality where the unit is stationed. Determining which season, which vegetables, every day the soldiers have focused on fertilizing and watering the vegetable garden regularly to meet the need for green vegetables for meals. These products not only ensure food hygiene and safety standards, but also contribute to improving the quality of meals for soldiers in the entire unit. Soldier Nguyen Hoang Quan - Company 2, Battalion 1, Brigade PB 16 shared: "Since joining the army for more than 8 months, in addition to training tasks, I have also participated in production activities, raising chickens and pigs to increase food sources for the troops". From the production emulation movement, the unit has exceeded the target, self-sufficient in 100% of green vegetables, fish and meat. Of which, green vegetables exceeded 128%, fish exceeded 118%, meat exceeded 116%.

Military medical officers examine soldiers' health

Following Uncle Ho's teachings, the Logistics Department of Brigade 16 also strives to complete military medical work well. Focusing on improving the professional qualifications and medical ethics of the staff and doctors, thereby taking good care of and protecting the health of soldiers, especially at the grassroots level. Units have done a good job in disease prevention and control; treating and managing soldiers' health; actively developing medicinal herb gardens, closely combining modern medicine and traditional medicine in disease prevention and treatment for soldiers... Thanks to that, over the past many years, in the Brigade, the rate of healthy soldiers has reached nearly 99.8%, exceeding the target set by the Military Region's plan.

Another highlight in the emulation movement of the Logistics sector is the movement "Building and managing regular, green - clean - beautiful barracks". Through proactively promoting the internal strength of the unit, at the same time exploiting and effectively using national defense capital sources, the locality invested in building a system of logistics warehouses, technical warehouses, and barracks of the agency. In 2014, the unit mobilized thousands of working days to renovate the unit's environmental landscape such as: whitewashing the works, ensuring a "green - clean - beautiful" landscape with a total area of ​​12,630m2; proactively checking, replacing, fixing, and repairing damaged and degraded electrical and water equipment with a total cost of nearly 14 million VND. Implementing the emulation movement, officers and soldiers of the Brigade always promote self-awareness in strictly complying with regulations on pumping, supplying water, turning on and off electricity for safe and stable use... Thereby, contributing to making the appearance of the barracks of agencies and units more and more formal and spacious, bringing the activities of the units into order.

From the above results, in 3 years (2012 - 2014), the Logistics branch of the 16th Artillery Brigade was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 4 for implementing the movement "The Army Logistics branch follows Uncle Ho's teachings".
