(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking at the Party's Internal Affairs sector review conference, comrade Tran Quoc Vuong - Politburo member, Standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat emphasized that the Internal Affairs sector needs to continue promoting its role as an advisory body, assisting the Party and State in leadership and administration.
On the morning of January 9, the Central Internal Affairs Commission held an online conference to summarize the work of 2020, review the work results during the 12th Party Congress term and the key tasks of the industry in 2021.Internal affairsParty.

MANY PROVINCES AND CITIES DO A GOOD JOB IN INTERNAL POLICY WORK
Attending and directing the conference, comrade Tran Quoc Vuong acknowledged the results in the work of building the political system and preventing and combating corruption (PCTN) that the Internal Affairs sector has strived to achieve in recent times; contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party, promoting the country's socio-economic development, and affirming the Party's leadership role.

He also acknowledged that in 2020, the Party's Internal Affairs sector advised and proposed the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform (CCTP), and provincial and municipal Party Committees to develop, promulgate and effectively direct the implementation of many major policies and orientations on internal affairs, anti-corruption and CCTP.
The Internal Affairs Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees have advised local Party Committees to issue 2,582 documents to lead, direct, disseminate and organize the implementation of Party and State regulations on internal affairs, anti-corruption and anti-corruption. Among them, the Internal Affairs Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees have done quite well in this work: Ca Mau, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Ho Chi Minh City, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Ninh Thuan, Quang Nam, Tay Ninh...
In addition, provinces and cities have proactively and creatively performed their duties as the standing agency of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption; effectively advised on the timely and strict handling of many corruption and economic cases, in line with the viewpoint of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, regardless of who the person is". In particular, the Central Internal Affairs Committee has been proactive, persistent, courageous and resolute in advising on the handling ofcase, corruption and economic cases; chaired and coordinated with central prosecution agencies to organize many inter-sectoral meetings to promptly resolve many difficulties and obstacles, speed up the investigation, prosecution and trial of complicated corruption and economic cases and cases of public concern.

Of which, up to now, 65 cases and 24 incidents have been directed to be handled, 20 cases/115 defendants have been tried at first instance, 13 cases/84 defendants have been tried at appeal with severe sentences, including high-ranking officials, both incumbent and retired, clearly affirming the determination of the Party and State to "not stop", "not rest", "not slacken" in anti-corruption.
In addition, looking back at the work of the past term, the conference also assessed the advantages and shortcomings that need to be overcome in the areas of work, such as inspection, supervision, handling of complaints and denunciations, information and propaganda work, organization of the Internal Affairs sector, etc.
The conference also heard many reports and discussions from provinces and cities on solutions to improve the quality of internal affairs work and practical lessons learned in localities.
IMPLEMENTING TASKS IN 2021
It is forecasted that in the coming time, in addition to advantages and opportunities, our country will also face many difficulties and challenges due to the complicated and unpredictable developments in the world and the region. 2021 is also the year of the 13th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, and the year of implementing the 10-year socio-economic strategy (2021-2030). Therefore, many key tasks of the Internal Affairs sector need to be carried out such as: Directing, reviewing, rectifying, and overcoming "gaps" and "loopholes" in mechanisms, policies, and laws on socio-economic management and anti-corruption. Actively coordinate, advise leaders, and direct the timely and strict handling of serious, complicated corruption and economic cases that are of public concern, in accordance with the direction of the General Secretary, President, and Head of the Steering Committee that "if there is a case, it must be verified and clarified", "actively, urgently, and clearly handle it, regardless of who commits corruption, if there are signs of crime, it must be investigated and prosecuted, and if there is a conclusion of guilt, it must be prosecuted and tried". In addition, strictly handle those who cover up, condone, or assist corruption, and interfere with or obstruct the fight against corruption.
Improve the quality of appraisal and commenting on draft laws, projects, and important documents on internal affairs, anti-corruption, and anti-corruption; participate responsibly, accurately, objectively, and cautiously in personnel work.
