Tax industry ready to deploy electronic tax application on mobile devices
In order to create the most favorable conditions for people and businesses to fulfill their tax obligations to the State budget, especially in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic nationwide, the Tax sector is actively completing preparations to deploy the electronic tax application for mobile devices (Etax-mobile). In the near future, the mobile app will be provided for individuals to install and use.
Implementing Decision No. 749/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the National Digital Transformation Program until 2025 and orientation to 2030, including the goal that by 2025, "80% of level 4 online public services will be provided on various access devices, including mobile devices", in the past time, the General Department of Taxation has actively provided electronic tax services to businesses and individuals. To date, 99% of businesses have used electronic tax services, applying digital signatures on electronic records sent to tax authorities.
However, the General Department of Taxation also found that most individuals currently do not have much access to tax policies and services. Tax compliance is still confusing. The reason individuals rarely use electronic tax services is because the supporting software is not as convenient as businesses, including the formselectronic tax returnFor individuals, there are few and no electronic tax payment services or tax liability information lookup.
To resolve these problems, the General Department of Taxation has directed specialized departments and units to analyze business and technical processes to build the Etax-mobile application, and at the same time prepare the necessary conditions to put this application into practice.

In the immediate future, the version of the Electronic Tax application for mobile devices on the IOS and Android platforms will be provided for individuals to install and use. In addition to supporting the functions provided on the Electronic Tax system via the Web platform, Etax mobile will provide enhanced services for user experience and add the function of looking up dependent information and support for individuals to pay taxes electronically through linking with the bank's payment application.
The General Department of Taxation believes that with 60 million individuals having tax codes today, the use of Etax mobile will help taxpayers easily access tax administrative procedures and communicate with tax authorities. Individuals can fulfill their tax obligations transparently and conveniently anywhere.In addition, in the current complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, supporting the Etax mobile application for individuals is the most basic solution to meet the policy of limiting direct contact, social distancing, contributing to repelling the spread of the epidemic.
It is expected that the General Department of Taxation will put the first version into operation in August 2021. After putting the application into operation, the General Department of Taxation will collect opinions from organizations and individuals to complete the application, and at the same time promote the signing of agreements and implementation of electronic tax payment with payment intermediaries or banks.
