Culture - Sports - Tourism Industry: A year of many milestones

Notable among them are the Ceremony to receive the national recognition certificate for the intangible cultural heritage of Nghe An folk songs, aiming to complete the dossier to submit to UNESCO for consideration of recognizing Vi and Giam folk songs as representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2014; the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Song Heritage won the Gold Medal at the National Professional Stage Performance Festival; coordinated with Vietnam Airlines Corporation to sign tourism development programs with Lao PDR, with the two provinces of Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa...

Bold impressions

In 2013, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proactively developed and advised all levels to issue many documents on mechanisms, policies, forms and organization of activities as a basis for promoting the development of culture, sports and tourism in the province. The most prominent of these was the development of the National Nomination Project for Nghe Tinh Folk Songs for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to submit to UNESCO for consideration and recognition as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2014; the Project to establish a Project Management Board for cultural, sports and tourism works, the Provincial High Performance Sports Project, the Project "Improving the effectiveness of activities at Kim Lien Relic Site"... Inspection and handling of violations were carried out regularly and promptly in all areas, contributing to stabilizing and maintaining security, politics and social order and safety.

Cultural, sports and tourism activities during the year were organized enthusiastically, widely, diversely and richly, basically meeting the people's need for spiritual cultural enjoyment, creating a clear change in the organization of cultural activities in the community, directing culture to the grassroots, contributing to increasing the level of spiritual cultural enjoyment for people in remote areas... The work of preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritage has received attention from local authorities at all levels and active support from the people. An inventory of the province's intangible cultural heritage has been organized, including ancient melodies of Nghe Tinh folk songs and folk songs; folk songs, folk music and folk dances of ethnic minorities; and the work of welcoming and guiding domestic and foreign tourists has been well organized.

At national professional art festivals, art troupes have achieved many great achievements. Notably, the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Heritage won a gold medal at the National Professional Theater Festival with the play "Race in the Dark".

Cultural and sports institutions have been strengthened in all aspects, from organizational structure, human resources, mechanisms, facilities, equipment to plans, contents and programs of activities. Thanks to that, cultural and sports movements at the grassroots level have developed more and more deeply, festivals have been restored, clubs have been developed and maintained regular activities with rich content. During the year, the sector has completed the organization of sports festivals at commune and district levels; built a plan to organize the provincial Sports Festival and a plan to participate in the 7th National Sports Festival in 2014. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has become the foundation for the development of the spiritual and cultural life of society.

In the field of high-performance sports, there is a preeminence, demonstrated through national, regional and continental tournaments. In 2013, our province participated in 65 tournaments, including 22 championships, 14 youth championships, 9 club cups, 11 other tournaments, 8 international tournaments, 1 international open tournament organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam and Asian Sports Federations. As a result, 293 medals of all kinds were won... Song Lam Football Club alone, at the end of the 2013 Eximbank National Championship season, ranked 4th; The U13 team won the gold medal at the National U13 Championship; The U19 team won the silver medal at the National U19 Championship; The U21 team won the bronze medal; Providing the Vietnam national teams, the Vietnam U21 team, the Vietnam U20 team: 20 athletes; Sending 2 coaches to train the Vietnam U20 team.

Thanks to the early agreement on the policy of stimulating demand and improving the quality of tourism products, the industry has achieved some remarkable results. The industry has proactively and actively promoted tourism in many forms such as: promoting tourism in conjunction with developing air routes in the period of 2013 - 2015; consolidating the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of Nghe An province, implementing the Program of Linking Tourism Development of Vinh - Nam Dan - Cua Lo... Directing the implementation of 4 breakthrough tasks of the Vietnam Tourism industry, focusing on improving the quality of tourism services, investing in developing infrastructure, building a safe, civilized, friendly environment, focusing on the Kim Lien relic site, Cua Lo, Vinh City. In 2013, the total number of stays in the province is estimated at 3,298,000, equal to 106% compared to 2012, reaching 100% of the annual plan. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 65,000, equal to 67% compared to 2012. Total tourism service revenue in 2013 is estimated at 2,060 billion VND, equal to 111% compared to 2012, reaching 108% of the year plan, of which international revenue is estimated at 111,525 thousand USD, equal to 67% compared to 2012. Food and beverage service business activities in tourist areas and spots have increased significantly, especially in coastal areas, with estimated revenue reaching 280 billion VND.

In the family field, the sector has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue relevant documents and direct the replication of the model on the implementation of the Project "Propaganda, education on ethics and lifestyle in Vietnamese families in the period of 2010-2020". On the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day with the theme "Preserving Vietnamese family traditions", the organization of discussion and exchange activities on "Family happiness" and an art performance program on Vietnamese Family Day at Ho Chi Minh Square attracted a large number of people to participate.

Mission 2014

Mr. Cao Dang Vinh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: 2014 is a year with many important events for the whole country and our province. The responsibility of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be very heavy. First of all, we will focus on building an art program to celebrate the Party and the New Year of the Horse, followed by activities to celebrate the 84th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 124th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the 69th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), the 84th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet, the Cultural Day of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (April 19), the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27), the Day of Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), the 110th birthday of General Secretary Tran Phu, the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 55th anniversary of the opening of the Truong Son Road...

To best complete the task, the sector determined: Firstly, continue to strengthen state management in the fields of culture, sports, tourism and family; Organize and serve well the political tasks of the province and the sector. Secondly, effectively implement the plan for developing physical education and sports until 2020; Master plan for tourism development until 2020, vision to 2030; Implement the projects "Preserving and promoting typical relics associated with tourism development"; "Developing Vinh City into an economic - cultural center of the North Central region", "Developing cultural and sports centers and preserving and promoting the intangible cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Western Nghe An until 2010", "Preserving and promoting ethnic sports in Western Nghe An"; Third, continue to implement three target programs: Preserving and promoting cultural heritage, developing cinema and building grassroots cultural life.

Effectively implement the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life"; Strengthen the management of festivals, cultural, sports and tourism activities. Fourthly, promote the mass physical education and sports movement; Successfully organize the 7th Provincial Sports Festival; Focus on training and participating in the 7th National Sports Festival to achieve high rankings; Continue to order young football players at Song Lam Football Joint Stock Company. Fifthly, effectively implement the Tourism Development Program for the period 2011-2015; Promote tourism promotion activities, expand and diversify tourism services and products, and increase the attraction of domestic and international tourists. Sixthly, direct localities to develop plans to implement the Vietnam family strategy until 2020, with a vision to 2030 in the province; Propagating and educating ethics, lifestyle, and behavior in the family; guiding the implementation of family counseling activities at the grassroots level. Seventh, focusing on training, fostering, and improving the quality of human resources in the culture, sports, and tourism sector according to the approved plan; Promoting the socialization of culture, sports, and tourism activities.
