January 13, opening of the 24th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee

The 24th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee is scheduled to take place from January 13-15.

At the first session in 2014, the National Assembly Standing Committee devoted most of its time to law-making.

Specifically, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on major issues that still have different opinions of the projects: Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance; Law on Marriage and Family (amended); Law on Entry, Exit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic; Law on Customs (amended); Law on Bankruptcy (amended).

The National Assembly Standing Committee also gave opinions on a number of major issues of the draft Law on the Organization of the National Assembly (amended) submitted to the National Assembly for its first comments at the 7th session and the draft Ordinance on the order and procedures for considering and deciding on the application of administrative measures at the People's Court.

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee is expected to approve the 2014 Foreign Affairs Program of National Assembly agencies and give opinions on the specific allocation plan for additional government bond capital for the 2014-2016 period.
