Compared to previous years, students have time to review for graduation exams one month earlier. In 2013, at the end of March, the Ministry of Education and Training announced 6 graduation exam subjects (3 compulsory subjects and 3 elective subjects) and candidates only had 2 months to prepare for the exam.
Although it is not time to register for elective exams, on February 28, Luong The Vinh High School (Hanoi) announced that more than 75% of students registered for Physics, 56% for English, nearly 51% for Chemistry, 11% for Geography, 5% for Biology and 0% for History.
This year, the high school graduation exam begins on June 2 and may last 2-4 days (because the Ministry of Education is seeking opinions on exam options); the number of subjects will also be reduced from 6 to 4; the time for the Math and Literature exams will be reduced from 150 minutes to 120 minutes; schools will take the exams independently, not in clusters as before; graduation consideration depends 50% on the results of the 12th grade training.
