On January 24, the AAG submarine cable will be fully restored.
Thus, compared to the original plan, the work to fix the broken AAG submarine cable was delayed by 1 day compared to the plan.
According to the latest information from the operator of the Asia-Pacific international submarine cable line (Asia America Gate Way - AAG), it is expected that by noon on January 24, the welding of the Asia-Pacific international submarine cable line (AAG) will be completed and the transmission channel will be fully restored.
As reported by VOV, at around 6pm on January 17, the first connection of the submarine optical cable was completed. The last connection will be made at 11am on January 22. By 11am on January 24, the cable will be welded. At that time, the transmission channel will be fully restored.
Previously, the announcement of the AAG submarine cable operator said that the cable repair work would be completed on January 23, restoring 100% of the transmission channel. Thus, compared to the original plan, the work to fix the AAG submarine cable break was delayed by 1 day.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Deputy Director of the Computing and Data Transmission Company, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, said: "As of today, the company managing the AAG submarine cable is urgently fixing the problem. It is expected that the last joint will be welded on January 24. However, to adjust and reroute all traffic as before the incident, it is estimated that it will be completed on January 28."
The AAG submarine cable had a problem at the branch to the Vung Tau landing station on January 5, nearly 120 km from the Vung Tau station (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province). The AAG submarine cable break in the first week of 2015 affected the traffic of internet service providers in Vietnam operating on the cable. To minimize the impact on customers, over the past 2 weeks, network operators have had to overcome the problem by using land cables to forward the AAG traffic that had been suspended. However, in recent days, the internet access speed of many Vietnamese users has been slow, especially when accessing international sites./.
