March 12, 1827:Birthday of Phan Ba Vanh - leader of the peasant movement from Minh Giam village, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province.

March 12, 1908:Birthday of revolutionary Ngo Gia Tu. In March 1929, he participated in the establishment of the first communist cell in Vietnam. After the Communist Party of Vietnam was established, Ngo Gia Tu was elected as the provisional Secretary of the Southern Party Committee. By the end of 1930, he was captured by the enemy in Saigon and exiled to Con Dao in May 1933. Ngo Gia Tu died during a sea voyage in early 1935.
