At exactly 6:30 a.m., 84 examination councils across the province opened the entrance exam for grade 10 high school in a solemn atmosphere, in accordance with regulations. Right at the opening ceremony of the exam, the examination councils (ECs) seriously disseminated the exam regulations to all supervisors and candidates. With the competitive nature of the exam to select 77.85% of grade 9 students to study at public high schools, maintaining strict discipline at the examination school, creating fairness and objectivity for all candidates taking the exam is the goal that the leaders of the Department of Education and Training put first when disseminating to the chairmen of the ECs. Choosing the right school according to one's ability and level is easy to see in this exam. Ha Huy Tap High School is the school with the second highest number of candidates registered for the exam in Vinh city. With 1,095 candidates registered for the exam, the school established 2 examination councils (24 examination rooms at Ha Huy Tap High School and 23 examination rooms at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted) to enroll 13 classes with 546 students. Thus, the school will select nearly 60% of the total candidates taking the exam. However, the large number of candidates does not reflect the quality of the school, but this is the pressure for the school to seriously implement to screen and select students with good academic performance.

To properly assess the quality of the input, all 84 examination councils have emphasized their responsibilities in organizing, supervising and protecting the exam. Because if this selection stage is well organized, it will be a good condition for schools to improve the quality of teaching and affirm their brand. In this year's entrance exam, the Department of Education and Training directed the examination councils not to arrange teachers who teach math, literature and foreign languages ​​to supervise the exam for that subject. This is one of the new solutions to tighten exam discipline, create fairness for candidates as well as select the right input capacity. In addition, some high schools have also proposed their own solutions such as Nghi Loc 1 High School. Teacher Hoang Van Thai - Chairman of the Examination Council of Nghi Loc 1 High School said: This year, Nghi Loc 1 High School has 666 candidates registered for the exam, the school will enroll 12 classes with 502 students. To strengthen exam discipline, the school arranges exam rooms by subject. Candidates only know their exam room when they enter the exam area 45 minutes before the exam; exam supervisors draw lots for exam rooms by subject. To ensure the quality of input, the school plans not to chase after quotas, but if the standard score is low, it will reduce the number of students.

According to the report from the exam steering committee, on the first day of the exam, 84 exam councils in the province strictly followed the regulations, no incidents occurred; no power outages; smooth communication... Reports from the exam councils said: the exam papers were distributed to each candidate; no torn, blurred, smudged, erroneous, or confusing exam papers were found... The literature and foreign language exam papers were assessed by many teachers and parents as being close to the secondary school program, focusing on grade 9. The exam papers basically met the requirements for level differentiation. Through discussions with candidates after the exam, in general, the exam papers were not too difficult.

On the first day of the exam, 10 candidates were suspended from the exam for bringing documents into the exam room and 2 candidates were 15 minutes late after the exam papers were opened. Of which, in the literature exam at Le Viet Thuat High School, there were 5 candidates (4 candidates brought documents into the exam room and 1 candidate was 15 minutes late after the exam papers were opened), each of Dang Thuc Hua, Hoang Mai, Tan Ky, Nguyen Xuan On had 1 candidate violating the regulations; in the foreign language exam at Le Viet Thuat High School, 1 candidate was late and 2 candidates at Nam Dan 2 High School and Quy Hop 2 High School used documents in the exam room.

Tomorrow, the candidates will take the final exam, math, with 120 minutes to complete.
