Blood donation festival "Nghe An Red Drops"

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 22, in Vinh City, the Central "Red Journey" Delegation coordinated with the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Nghe An Province to organize the "Red Drops of Nghe An" blood donation festival. This event is part of a series of activities responding to the "Red Journey" program in 2015 organized annually by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

Attending the opening ceremony were Dr. Bach Quoc Khanh - Deputy Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. On the provincial side, there were Mr. Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

With the slogan "Connecting Vietnamese blood", "Red Journey" aims to raise public awareness about voluntary blood donation and promote the prevention of Thalassemia...

Participating in the blood donation festival "Giọt hồng xua Nghệ" are union members, youth, volunteers, officials, civil servants of Vinh city, and agencies and enterprises of the province.

The goal of the “Red Journey 2015” in Nghe An is to attract at least 1,300 people to register for voluntary blood donation; expected to receive at least 600 units of safe blood. The donated blood will be transferred to the Central Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center.

“Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood” goes through 22 provinces and cities, including Nghe An. This is a cross-country program with profound humanitarian significance, calling on all people to participate in donating blood to save lives; demonstrating the love, compassion and sharing of Vietnamese people. Through that, organizing blood donation activities aims to contribute significantly to overcoming the shortage of blood in emergency and medical treatment.
