Festival "Spring Colors Across the Country"

The 2014 “Spring Colors Across the Country” Festival will take place from February 15-17, 2014 (16-18 of the Lunar New Year) at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism with many special activities.

The festival "Spring Colors in Every Region of the Country" is an activity to celebrate the Party and the Year of the Horse 2014 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.

This is also an occasion to honor, commend, encourage and motivate prestigious people in the Vietnamese ethnic community who have made achievements in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic groups; strengthening the building and consolidation of the great solidarity bloc of Vietnamese ethnic groups through cultural and artistic exchange activities between ethnic groups, encouraging the spirit of excitement and enthusiasm to welcome the new spring with a new spirit of the Vietnamese ethnic community.

The Organizing Committee hopes that through the activities at the Festival, it will promote and introduce the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, a friendly and attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.

According to the Plan, the Festival will include the following activities: Party and State leaders will extend New Year greetings to the Vietnamese ethnic communities and attend some festivals and rituals to pray for good harvests and favorable weather of some ethnic communities; New Year's ethnic wrestling festival; New Year's horse racing festival of the Mong ethnic community; Spring festivals and rituals of other ethnic groups: New Year village festival of the Dao ethnic group (Bang Ca village, Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh), Han Cuong festival (New Year celebration) of the Thai ethnic group and Gong festival of the Muong ethnic group (Hoa Binh), Praying for favorable weather and good crops festival of the Lo Lo ethnic group (Ha Giang), New Year's praying festival of the San Chay ethnic group (Phu Tho), New Year's husband-catching festival of the Chu Ru ethnic group (Lam Dong), Rice planting festival (praying for a good harvest) of the Brau ethnic group (Kon Tum), Rain praying festival of the Cor ethnic group (Quang Nam), Pang Kate festival of the Cham ethnic group (Binh Thuan)...

In addition, there are also folk games, folk songs, folk dances, and other rituals of ethnic groups performed on the occasion of the New Year and response activities of union members and youth of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The event was organized by the Management Board of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in coordination with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho, Quang Nam, Binh Thuan, Kon Tum, and Lam Dong provinces.
