First day of the 20th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union, term 2025-2030
On the afternoon of December 7th, the first day of the 20th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union, for the 2025-2030 term, took place at the Nghe An Provincial Labor Culture House. The congress was attended by 300 outstanding delegates, representing the will and aspirations of over 150,000 trade union members and workers throughout the province.
Also attending the congress were representatives from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and comrades from the Party Building Committees of the Provincial Party Committee.

The Congress is taking place in the context of the entire political system accelerating comprehensive reforms and operating a two-tiered local government model – a breakthrough in the organization of the state apparatus, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of management, better serving the people, and creating conditions to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.
The 20th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union, for the term 2025-2030, is a political event of paramount importance, a grand celebration for the working class throughout the province. Beyond summarizing the past period, the Congress also opens a powerful transformation and sets major directions for the development of the provincial trade union organization. This will contribute to making Nghe An a relatively prosperous province in the country, a national growth pole, and a worthy contribution to the prosperity and development of the nation in the new era.

At the first session, the Congress addressed several important issues: electing the Presidium of the Congress, the Congress Secretary, and the Committee for Verifying the Credentials of Delegates; approving the program and working regulations of the Congress; and voting to approve the report on the results of the verification of delegates' credentials.
At the second session, the Congress listened to a summary report on the results of its activities.Provincial Trade UnionNghe An, term 2023 – 2028. During the period 2023-2025, despite changes in organizational structure, the trade unions at all levels in Nghe An province focused on innovation in leadership, management, and implementation, successfully achieving the basic targets and tasks set forth in the Resolution of the 19th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union.

Regarding annual targets, the Nghe An Trade Union achieved or exceeded 10 out of 14 targets, and nearly achieved 4 out of 14 targets. For targets for the entire term, 10 out of 15 targets were achieved or exceeded, while 5 out of 15 targets were not met or not implemented. These targets include: at least 40% of collective labor agreements achieving a Grade A rating; completion of the construction of at least one trade union organization facility; and construction of at least two public service facilities for union members in remote and disadvantaged areas.
At the same time, the union effectively performed its function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and workers; propaganda and mobilization work saw many innovations. The work of caring for union members and workers was truly prioritized and implemented with many outstanding activities; patriotic emulation movements in all fields continued to be effectively promoted and spread widely.
During the past term, the focus was on building a strong trade union organization and participating in Party and government building; women's affairs work had many practical and effective contents. In addition, financial management and the management of trade union assets were strengthened; inspection and supervision work was emphasized; foreign relations continued to be promoted; and leadership and guidance methods were constantly innovated to meet the requirements of the current period.
The Congress also listened to the review report of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Union, 19th term, 2023-2028; approved the personnel plan for the 20th Executive Committee; and approved the plan for delegates to the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, 2026-2031 term.
The congress noted many high-quality presentations revolving around key issues of improving the effectiveness of trade union work and implementing three breakthroughs in the new term.
Also at the second working session, the congress divided into groups to discuss the personnel plan, the draft content of the congress documents, and proceeded to elect the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions for the 20th term, and elect delegates to attend the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026 – 2031.
