(Baonghean) - The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Canada organized a "national sweater day" to reduce heating usage, with the aim of calling on people to save energy and protect the environment.
Agencies, offices and peopleCanadaenthusiastically responded to this call, turning down the temperature of heating and air conditioning, wearing sweaters to fight the "cold". National Sweater Day wants to send a message to the government, agencies and individuals that we should use energy reasonably, and act together to fight climate change.
According to WWF Canada's calculations, if during the winter, each personCanadaWearing a sweater and turning down the thermostat by 2 degrees reduces greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to taking 2.7 million cars off the road. To encourage more people to participate in "sweater day", WWF Canada invited many elderly women to join in promoting the program.
