October 1, 1876:Birthday of patriot Huynh Thuc Khang, Minister of the Interior of the Coalition Government of Resistance. When President Ho Chi Minh went to France in 1946, Minister Huynh Thuc Khang was given the power of President.

October 1, 1936:The ceremony to lay the last rail connecting the Trans-Indochina railway was held at Hao Son station (Tuy Hoa). On October 2, 1936, the first train departed from Hanoi station to Saigon, officially opening the Trans-Indochina railway.
