September 19, 1442:The day of death of national hero and world cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai. Nguyen Trai was born in 1380, with the pen name Uc Trai, from Nhi Khe, Thuong Tin, Ha Tay (now Hanoi). He was an outstanding cultural figure of Vietnam. In 1980, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognized him as a cultural celebrity and is commemorated worldwide.
September 19, 1885:At the French Resident in Central Vietnam, Nguyen Phuc Ung Ky held a coronation ceremony and was honored as the 9th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, with the reign name Dong Khanh.
September 19, 1900:Birthday of King Duy Tan, also known as Nguyen Phuc Vinh San, the 11th king of the Nguyen Dynasty. He was a patriotic king with a national spirit. King Duy Tan died in 1945.
