September 24, 1957:The death of comrade Nguyen Chanh. Revolutionary Nguyen Chanh (1914-1957) was born into a middle-class peasant family in Team 6, Tho Loc village, Tinh Ha commune, Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province. Comrade Nguyen Chanh's military career was closely linked to the Inter-zone 5 front, a battlefield with economic difficulties, surrounded by the French army on all sides, far from the Central, but with a very important strategic position.
