The 13th Vietnam Poetry Day will open on March 5 (January 15) at the Temple of Literature - Hanoi. The theme of this year's Poetry Day is still about the sea and islands of the Fatherland, continuing the theme of last year.

Because Vietnam Poetry Day takes place at the same time as the Asia-Pacific Literature Promotion Conference and Poetry Festival, this event is expected to attract many poets and authors from countries such as England, France, Australia, Brazil, etc. to participate. The organizers said that this year there will be two traditional and international poetry stages. Many poetry clubs in Hanoi and other localities, authors of many generations and ages, etc. will gather at the Van Mieu poetry stage on this occasion. In addition, within the framework of the event, there will also be activities such as: exhibitions of Vietnamese literary works translated and published abroad, calligraphy and parallel sentences performances, folk art performances, etc.

In Ho Chi Minh City, at 7pm on March 4, the city's 2015 Lantern Festival Poetry Night program took place with the theme "Spring of unification, development, towards the sea and islands of the Fatherland". The organizers and directors of this night are poets Pham Sy Sau and Truong Nam Huong.

Many authors from traditional and innovative poetry generations participated in the program such as: Tran Vinh, Le Thi Kim, Nguyen Luong Hieu, Le Binh. Tran Huu Luc, Hue Trieu, Pham Thi Ngoc Lien, Thanh Tung, Tran Le Son Y... The reciters and performers created poems imbued with the spring atmosphere, about the islands and especially about the love for Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City. The young writers also prepared a separate performance scene during the poetry night. The MCs of the program were poet Le Minh Quoc and author Tieu Quyen.

On March 5, many poets, writers of the Writers' Association, poetry clubs from districts, cultural houses and readers will visit and exchange at the poetry yards set up in the campus of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations.

"Every year, Poetry Day brings me a warm and emotional feeling because poets get to meet each other in a space dedicated to poetry. Compared to previous years, this year's Young Poetry Stage has many differences: printing a unique collection of poems and participating in a poetry play performance on the opening night. We came up with ideas and discussed plans very early on, on how to truly create a different mark for this year's Young Poetry Stage," author Tieu Quyen shared.
