Officers and soldiers of Battalion 12 and people of Xuan Hoa commune dredged canals in the fields.

Private Nguyen Anh Tuan, a soldier of Company 1, shared: “I am very happy to contribute to helping people build new rural areas. This canal is dredged and drained, which will help with more effective irrigation...”.

Present with the people in the working session, comrade Tran Hong Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Hoa commune said: "We highly appreciate the effective cooperation of the officers and soldiers of Battalion 12 in the past time. Projects such as: building rural roads, clean water pipelines, dredging canals, clearing sewers, building large-scale fields, cleaning village roads and alleys... all bear the mark of the officers and soldiers of Battalion 12. Thanks to that, the locality has improved production efficiency, contributing to speeding up the implementation of new rural criteria...".

Right from the first days of implementing the new rural construction movement, the Battalion signed a coordination program to join hands with the communes of Xuan Hoa, Nam Thanh, Nam Xuan and Nam Cat to speed up the implementation of the criteria. Accordingly, every week, on "Volunteer Saturday", the Battalion mobilized officers and soldiers to join hands with organizations and unions to help people concretize inter-village roads, expand, dredge, install drainage pipes in intra-field canals, clean water pipes, and build large-scale model fields. Up to now, the Battalion has joined hands to build 5 km of inter-village roads, 3 km of clean water pipes, and install hundreds of drainage pipes. In addition, officers and soldiers of the Battalion also regularly coordinate with the Commune Youth Unions to organize sanitation and clear roads in villages and hamlets; coordinate with the District Youth Union to plant trees on the road to the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan (Uncle Ho's mother) on holidays and Tet. Before the rainy season, the unit always sends forces to help people harvest the harvest to avoid floods, reinforce houses, and cut down trees along the roads to prevent storms. At the same time, when forest fires occur in communes near the station, the unit always sends forces to help people put out the fires.

The above actions of the officers and soldiers of Battalion 12 have left a good impression of the image of “Reconnaissance soldiers in the beloved homeland of Uncle Ho”, further strengthening the close relationship between the unit and the locality. With “Volunteer Saturday”, in the coming time, officers and soldiers of the battalion will have many meaningful tasks to help localities reach the finish line sooner in implementing the movement “Military Region Armed Forces join hands to build new rural areas”.
