(Baonghean) - Dieu Oc parish has 235 households in 2 hamlets Trung Nam A, Trung Nam B, Phuc Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. This is a typical parish, always leading in socio-economic development movements, building cultural life in residential areas...

In the middle of November, the atmosphere of Dieu Oc parish was unusually hurried and urgent. Right next to the parish church, the last households volunteered to donate land, move their houses to clear the ground to build a cultural house yard. Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Head of the Front Committee of Trung Nam A and B hamlets, said: More than a year ago, when planning to build a new rural area, the cultural house area and sports playground of the two hamlets were moved to the fields because the village had run out of land. After many meetings, the people did not agree and asked the commune to move the planning of the cultural house and playground to the central area of the two hamlets, next to the parish church. The difficulty is that there are 4 households living in the above area. After many meetings, the people proposed to change the planning, the households moved to a new place, the commune exchanged land, and the households contributed money to build houses for the people.

All procedures were carried out in accordance with the law and were completed quickly. Four households, including Mr. Nguyen Van Nang, Nguyen Van Thanh, Phan Van Vien and Ms. Le Thi Luong, all agreed to move to the new residence. The executive committees of the two hamlets coordinated with the parish pastoral council to mobilize people to donate money to build houses for the relocated households. Those with low income contributed 100,000 VND, while the rich and well-off households contributed hundreds of millions of VND. Typically, Mr. Tran Van Que donated 3 times, totaling 190 million VND, Mr. Tran Van Cung contributed 3 times, over 120 million VND including cash and construction materials, Mr. Phan Van Toan, 2 times, 80 million VND, etc. The above amount of money was used by the hamlet to build each house worth about 300 million VND, completed and put into use in early November to give the land to the hamlet to use for cultural institutions. Thanks to that, the communal cultural house has a spacious, clean campus, a performance stage, a backstage area and a spacious yard.

The first event in the cultural yard was the National Unity Day held on November 11. That was the day when the old men and women in the parish wore new uniforms and performed health exercises with the Thuc Vu Kinh Club of the neighboring village; the children dressed up in costumes to perform art performances; the brothers and sisters prepared exchange programs for volleyball, dancing, singing, and table tennis. On all the streets and alleys, people were excited to attend the National Unity Day. Songs and chants praising the homeland, the country, praising God, and family affection resounded amidst the endless applause. The most exciting was the sports exchange program that received a lot of response.
