Nghe An: 1 student participates in the International Math Olympiad
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the Department of Testing and Education Quality Assessment, Ministry of Education and Training, Hoang Anh Tai, a 12th grade A1 student at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted (Nghe An), has become an official member, participating in the 2015 International Math Olympiad.
Thus, after 18 years, since 1997, when Nguyen Canh Hao won the Silver Medal in International Mathematics, this year Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has a student participating in the International Mathematics Olympiad. According to teacher Dau Hoang Hung, homeroom teacher of Hoang Anh Tai, Tai's situation is very special. He is from Do Luong district, his mother is a teacher at Yen Son Kindergarten, Do Luong district, his father suffered from a serious illness and passed away when he was in 10th grade, but with his outstanding determination, in the recent national excellent student exam, he won second prize and was one of 8 students specializing in Mathematics from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted to participate in round 2, selected for the team to participate in the International Mathematics Olympiad in 2015.
Along with Hoang Anh Tai, this year Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has 3 students participating in the Asian Physics Olympiad and the International Olympiad in Information Technology. In Physics, there is Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, a student of class 12A3 (in 2014, when he was a student of class 11, Nguyen Ngoc Khanh won the bronze medal in the Asian Physics Olympiad). In Information Technology, there are two students: Le Anh Duc, a student of class 11A2, and Ho Sy Viet Cuong, a student of class 12A2.
Thus, with 4 students participating in the Asian and International Excellent Student Competition, this is the year Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has had the largest number of students participating internationally ever.
