In the first 6 months of 2018, Nghe An Health sector has basically completed the goals of protecting, caring for and improving people's health. Disease prevention work has been implemented and monitored regularly so that no major epidemics or dangerous epidemics have occurred.

However, an outbreak of acute diarrhea still occurred in Hoa Xuan village, Keng Du commune, Ky Son district, with 14 cases. The industry promptly controlled and extinguished the outbreak.

Medical examination, treatment and rehabilitation work has been carried out well. Medical examination and treatment units in the province have examined nearly 2.9 million people, treated over 309 thousand inpatients, with over 56 thousand surgeries of all kinds.

The implementation of the financial autonomy and self-responsibility regime continues to help units have many measures to increase revenue, save costs, develop infrastructure, equipment, technology and attract human resources. During this time, units have also deployed many new techniques, such as: Cardiovascular intervention, open heart surgery, organ transplantation, vascular surgery, spinal nerve surgery, bone marrow transplantation...

In addition, the target programs on health, population - family planning, reproductive health care, HIV/AIDS prevention, child malnutrition prevention, food safety... have also completed their assigned tasks. In 6 months, there were 4 cases of food poisoning in the province, 35 people were infected and 3 people died from drinking wine soaked with tree roots.

At the conference, delegates expressed many opinions to promote positive aspects and propose solutions for the health sector to better perform its tasks this year and in the following years.

Accordingly, in the last 6 months of 2018, Nghe An health sector will continue to promote disease prevention and control activities, implement health programs to reduce disease rates, improve health, increase life expectancy, improve population quality; improve the quality of medical examination, treatment and rehabilitation on the basis of improving the service attitude of medical staff in medical examination and treatment facilities, and developing grassroots health care.

In addition, the industry will focus on implementing approved projects; enhancing the application of information technology; and promoting administrative reform for the benefit of the people./.
