In 2017, the Department of Science and Technology managed 80 topics (of which 61 were transferred and 19 were new topics and projects); 29/61 topics and projects were accepted; 4 national-level science and technology projects.

In the field of medicine, a number of advanced techniques have been successfully applied and mastered. In particular, Nghe An successfully carried out the first in vitro fertilization on November 17 at Nghe An General Hospital.

In particular, during the year, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the PC46 Department of Nghe An Police to successfully crack down on the secret case 917XD, discovering and catching red-handed a new fraudulent method of trading gasoline.

Many local specialties are interested in building industrial property protection such as Thanh Chuong chicken, Cua Lo mackerel, Quynh Luu dried squid, and Dien Chau shrimp.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien said that although initial results have been achieved, the replication has not been much.
