Nghe An: 3 days off for New Year's Eve, 26 people fined for drinking and driving
(Baonghean.vn) - During the 3-day New Year holiday 2021, 2 traffic accidents occurred in Nghe An province, killing 2 people. In particular, the traffic police handled 26 cases of alcohol concentration violations.
Data provided by the Traffic Police Department (Nghe An Police) shows that, compared to the same period in 2020, there was a decrease of 1 case.traffic accident, 1 fewer deaths, 2 fewer injuries.
During the holiday, the Traffic Police organized 199 patrols and inspections, with 695 officers participating, thereby detecting and making administrative records of 578 cases. Of these, 215 cases were car drivers; 357 cases were motorbikes; 6 cases were electric motorbikes.
Accordingly, the authorities have temporarily detained 3 cars, 137 motorbikes, 5 electric motorbikes; at the same time, issued decisions to fine 381 cases, transferred to the State Treasury to collect a fine of 378,375,000 VND; and temporarily revoked the right to use driving licenses in 31 cases.
Of these, 26 cases were alcohol violations, 63 cases were speeding, and 8 cases were overloaded vehicles...

According to the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), during the 3-day New Year holiday (from January 1 to January 3), there were 67 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 40 people and injuring 37. Compared to the first 3 days of 2020, there were 9 fewer cases, 16 fewer deaths, and 6 fewer injuries.
