Nghe An: Only 2 traffic accidents occurred during 5-day holiday
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial Police said that during the 5-day holiday, there were 2 traffic accidents in the province, injuring 1 person.
Data provided by the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Public Security shows that, compared to the same period in 2018, there were 3 fewer traffic accidents, 1 fewer deaths, and 2 fewer injuries.
During the 5-day holiday, the Traffic Police organized 396 patrols and inspections, with 1,453 officers and soldiers participating, thereby detecting and issuing administrative records for 1,242 cases. Of these, 416 cases were car drivers (130 passenger cars, 204 trucks, 82 cars); 808 cases were motorbikes, 16 cases were electric motorbikes.

Accordingly, the authorities have temporarily detained 27 cars, 182 motorbikes, 16 electric motorbikes; at the same time, issued decisions to fine 728 cases, transferring the fine of 399,890,000 VND to the Treasury.
Of these, 155 cases involved speeding, 57 cases involved alcohol concentration violations, 34 cases involved non-compliance with traffic light signals, 179 cases involved no driving license, 386 cases involved people on motorbikes not wearing helmets, 19 cases involved carrying more people than the prescribed number, 36 cases involved inadequate technical safety equipment, 31 cases involved oversized vehicles, 22 cases involved overloaded vehicles...

During the 5-day holiday, many political and social activities took place in Nghe An, and the number of people and vehicles participating in traffic increased. However, the Traffic Police mobilized maximum forces and vehicles to proactively develop plans to ensure traffic safety, so there were no traffic jams or unexpected situations.

During this 4-day holiday, there were 111 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 80 people and injuring 79. Compared to the same period last year, there were 2 fewer accidents, 1 more death, and no increase or decrease in the number of injuries.
