Nghe An: 5 billion 210 million VND to build "Union Shelter" house
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 10, the Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to review the 5-year program of building "Trade Union Shelters" (2009 - 2014). Attending were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Labor Federations of districts, cities, towns and trade union organizations under the Provincial Federation of Labor.
With the goal of supporting civil servants, laborers, and union members facing housing difficulties, from July 2009 to June 2014, the "Union Shelter" program in Nghe An has invested in building 207 houses, including 167 new houses and 29 houses repaired. The total amount of support is 5 billion 210 million VND. Many units have done a good job of collecting and paying into the "Union Shelter" fund, such as the Labor Federation of Cua Lo town, Dien Chau district, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector trade union, the Civil Servants' Trade Union... Besides, there are still some shortcomings and limitations such as: the collection of the "Union Shelter" fund in some wards, communes, and non-state enterprises has a low rate; some cases of survey and support are not thorough, not targeting the right beneficiaries; the mobilized resources have not increased, while the demand and disbursed amount are increasing...
The conference set a target for the coming years, striving to collect an average of 70% or more of the total number of employees; building and repairing at least 30 Trade Union Shelters each year; improving the quality of house construction through mobilizing other local support sources...
