Nghe An issues directive on organizing the Spring Tree Planting Festival 2025
The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Directive No. 01/CT-UBND to organize "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty and to strengthen forest management, protection and development from the beginning of 2025.

Following President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "Spring is the season for tree planting, making the country more and more springy", in recent years, ministries, branches, party committees at all levels, local authorities and Nghe An people have responded and actively participated in the movement of tree planting, afforestation and forest protection, achieving many important and practical achievements. Thereby, contributing to socio-economic development, environmental improvement, natural disaster mitigation, climate change adaptation, ensuring national defense and security.
In order to promote the achieved results, overcome difficulties and limitations, and actively prepare to organize the "Tet tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho", on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty 2025, right from the first days of the year, the Provincial People's Committee requested Directors of provincial departments, branches and sectors and Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, cities, towns, units and forest owners to strengthen propaganda, education and mobilization of all levels, branches and people to actively participate in tree planting and forest planting; strictly implement the provisions of law on forest and wildlife management and protection.

At the same time, promote intensive afforestation, large timber afforestation, improve forest productivity and quality in accordance with Directive No. 10-CT/TU dated October 5, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on promoting the development of high-quality intensive forest material areas associated with granting certificates of sustainable forest management and forest product processing industry for the period 2021-2025; contributing to protecting the ecological environment, mitigating natural disasters, and adapting to climate change.
In addition, continue to effectively implement forestry laws and documents guiding the implementation of the Forestry Law; strictly implement Conclusion No. 61-KL/TW dated August 17, 2023 of the Secretariat on continuing to implement Directive No. 13-CT/TW dated January 12, 2017 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in forest management, protection and development. Fight, sweep, detect and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate the forestry sector according to regulations.
Agencies and units synchronously and effectively deploy mechanisms and policies in forestry. Develop plans, organize effective implementation, strive to complete targets and plans for 2025 in the forestry sector. Direct the effective implementation of forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting, and combat illegal logging and exploitation before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025.
Develop a plan to organize the launching ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival" in the Spring of At Ty 2025 to ensure practicality, safety, economy, and suitability with the civilized lifestyle, cultural traditions of the nation and good customs and practices of each locality; create conditions for agencies, organizations, unions, schools, armed forces and all classes of people to actively participate in tree planting and afforestation.

Time to organize the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival" Spring At Ty 2025 The best time to plant is in the first days of the new year. After planting, it is necessary to take good care of and protect existing trees and forests so that the trees can grow and develop well; organize inspections and evaluations of the implementation results of the "Tree Planting Festival" and forest planting and protection work in the locality, draw lessons, promptly commend and reward typical organizations and individuals who do well. Synthesize and report on the organization plan and implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee according to regulations.
Along with that, strengthen the management of forestry seed quality, select suitable plant species, prepare good quality seedlings and increase the rate of using tissue culture and cuttings; take advantage of favorable seasons and weather to plant forests to ensure high survival rate; apply technical advances in planting large timber forests, improve productivity, quality and value of planted forests; carry out forest care, management and protection, assign specific management responsibilities so that plants and planted forests can grow well.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, sectors, and localities to advise and submit to the Provincial People's Committee the Plan to organize the Launching Ceremony of "Tet tree planting in the Spring of At Ty 2025". At the same time, direct and guide the People's Committees of districts, cities, towns and agencies, organizations, unions, and forest owners to implement Tet tree planting in accordance with each locality and unit to ensure effectiveness, practicality, safety, and savings.
The Provincial People's Committee requests the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations and social organizations to strengthen propaganda, dissemination and mobilization of member organizations and members to actively participate and supervise the implementation of this Directive.
In 2024, despite the general difficulties, with the drastic and close direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee; along with the efforts, creativity, solidarity, and consensus to overcome difficulties of millions of farmers and the business community, the work of forest management, protection, and development in the whole province has achieved remarkable results. The whole province has planted over 22,000 hectares of concentrated forests and more than 8.9 million scattered trees, exploited over 1.7 million m3 of planted forest wood to ensure a stable supply of raw materials for the forest products processing industry; well protected 961,000 hectares of existing forests; ensured that forest cover remained above 58%.
