Nghe An seizes nearly 1 ton of animal organs of unknown origin
(Baonghean.vn) -While on patrol and control duty, the Traffic Police force at Station 51 Dien Chau - Nghe An Provincial Police discovered and seized nearly 1,000 kg of animal organs of unknown origin.
At 1:00 a.m. this morning, at km 417 on National Highway 1A - the section passing through Dien Chau district, officers of Dien Chau Traffic Police Station, under the Traffic Police Department of CANA, discovered and arrested a passenger car with a Lao license plate driven by Mr. Nguyen Van Le, born in 1975, residing in Block 4, Nghi Xuan District Town, Ha Tinh Province, traveling from Nuoc Ngam bus station (Hanoi) to Vientiane, Lao PDR.
Authorities are checking and handing over the infringing exhibits for destruction.
Upon inspection, the traffic police discovered that the passenger bus was carrying nearly 1 ton of animal organs including liver, spleen, pig intestines and beef tripe, preserved in 15 styrofoam boxes that had begun to smell bad and rotten. Upon inspection, driver Nguyen Van Le was unable to present relevant documents to prove the origin of the goods. The police force at Dien Chau Traffic Police Station drew up a record to seize the above goods to hand over to the authorities for handling according to the law.
To avoid environmental pollution caused by the organs, this morning (March 9), the organs of unknown origin were handed over to the veterinary agency of Dien Chau district for timely destruction.
