Nghe An: Schools are not allowed to arbitrarily use online teaching software outside of regulations.
(Baonghean.vn) - This is one of the contents that Nghe An Department of Education and Training has just directed to improve the quality of organizing teaching and learning via the Internet.
Previously, because the school break for students in the whole province had to be extended due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, many schools in the province used online teaching with popular software, Zoom meeting software. This is free software and all parents and schools can use it for 40 minutes/time. However, this is not a software that the Ministry of Education and Training registers for free and when upgrading, a fee will be charged, so if used for a long time, it will be difficult to manage and may cause problems.

In order for teaching, testing and assessment of learning outcomes via the Internet to be effective, the Department of Education and Training requires schools, depending on the actual conditions of the school and the quality assessment of the supplier, to choose one of two free software, VNPT E-learning or Viettel Study, in accordance with the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 1061/BGDĐT-GDTrH on Instructions for teaching via the Internet and on television for general education institutions and regular education institutions during the time students are off school due to Covid-19 in the 2019-2020 school year of the Ministry of Education and Training.
In case educational institutions use other systems and software during the teaching and learning process via the Internet (meeting the requirements on technical infrastructure, lessons, learning materials, management, and monitoring of the teaching and learning progress of teachers and students), they must be inspected and assessed by the Department of Education and Training.

In particular, in the process of implementing online teaching, schools are required not to collect fees and not to require parents and students to purchase equipment for online teaching.
The Department of Education and Training also stipulates that in localities that do not have an Internet connection and do not have sufficient conditions to deploy online teaching and learning, the Departments of Education and Training and heads of affiliated units, depending on the actual conditions in the locality, have appropriate forms to deliver and receive assignments and evaluate students' learning outcomes during the period of Covid-19 prevention and control.
