According to information from the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade, on March 7, the number of shoppers at supermarkets, markets, and convenience stores increased by 15-20% compared to normal days, including a group of people who, due to concerns about the Covid-19 epidemic, were rushing to stockpile goods and necessities.

Discussing this issue, Ms. Tran Thi My Ha - Head of Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade said: "It is not necessary for Nghe An people to rush to buy goods and stock up on food at this time because Nghe An has not confirmed any positive cases of Covid-19. People need to be alert and follow official information to avoid panic, anxiety, and market disruption."
The Department of Industry and Trade has also directed distribution units to stockpile enough goods and essential necessities to ensure enough for people to prevent the epidemic.
In case of hoarding and price gouging of food products, the Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with the Market Management force to inspect and strictly handle according to regulations.

Supermarkets in Vinh City have confirmed that they will increase the quantity of goods, bring more sources to the points of sale and commit not to increase prices to serve the needs of the people.
